I like to ponder over each blog for few days after the shoot before I actually write anything. I reflect on the experience with each person, their demeanor, their interaction with fellow family members or friends, etc… I really try to pay close attention to my impressions, often take note of them, and reflect back on them as I’m editing the photographs.
I reeeeeeally wanted to talk about how super, crazy hot it was at 8:00 in the morning, but nope! (Record heat that day! 88*F at 8 a.m.) SO. HOT.🔥☀️
OR maybe write about how adorable and expressive little T has become at only four months old…. (those EYEBROWS!)
…but, I kept coming back to how absolutely beautiful Alissa looked!
Now, she’s an attractive woman, to be sure! I was there at her wedding (she’s married to my baby brother!), we’ve spent time together at family functions, & she’s in several family photos and thought she was really pretty; but I had never been quite so “taken” by her beauty before.
So, I pondered on why… She’s grown her hair out, & she styled it, but, seriously, its not necessarily the hair. (-Gorgeous as it may be!)
I finally realized why: Motherhood becomes her.
There is a change that happens to a woman when she travels to the brink of death to bring a child into the world. She has begun her lifelong journey of love and selfless service to that littlest of people who take up such a huge place in her heart… and it makes her glow.
Such loves makes a pretty woman beautiful.
So, even though my brother is a handsome man and a darling father (and Father’s Day is just around the corner), this post goes out to my stunning sister-in-law, mother to my adorable, youngest nephew…
…and to all the mothers out there who need reminding how beautiful and wonderful you are to your children.
SO…keep reading for some beautiful quotes on motherhood and more beautiful, memorable photographs. 💙
